About Cameron Klingenberg
My work seeks to explore our human connection with the natural world and the inner world. Through traditional mediums ranging from watercolor to ceramics I am interested in the places where color and line can bring us to the same moment of insight and epiphany that the wonders of the natural world can bring at any moment.
The guides and inspiration for artists in the twenty-first century are feasibly limitless. Those that have gotten me to this point are diverse and broad, from the story telling and graphic line of Lynd Ward to the enthralling compositions of O’Keefe to the color and technical eye of the Japanese Edo period printers.
As an illustrator, my goal and vision is to create images and objects that give the viewer content that a photograph cannot capture. As a person enthralled with nature my hope is to convey what I find there. While drawing from the inspiration found in that natural world around us and our connection to it, along with the work of modern and historic artistic expression, I hope to continue my creative search.
